    To turn off in php.ini

    /usr/local/lib/php.ini

    Code:
    register_globals        =       Off
    # /etc/init.d/httpd graceful

    To turn off in .htaccess on a case by case basis (turn off globally in php.ini may wreak havoc with clients scripts)

    .htaccess in the /home/$user/www/

    php_flag register_globals "0"
