Reinstalling a compromised server

I have to 2 cPanel servers. One production server and one that the production server backs up to. I believe both have been compromised. I have taken down the secondary server to reinstall the OS then I will cut over the accounts from the main server. My question is, I know you ahve to install with a valid cPanel registerd domain.

Will I be able to reisntall Server2.domain.com, cut over accounts, then rename it to server1.domain.com and replace the compromised server1.domain.com? Will I run into any licensing limits ebcause it was installed as server2.domain.com?

I believe the licensing is tied to the IP, not a domain. So if you move IP addresses between machines as well, you'll be fine.
