Hi!

A customer using Outlook can't sent mails to (different) recipients @nord-com.net

Using
pop mail.domain_on_my_vps.de standard port
smtp: mail.domain_on_my_vps.de 587
auth before sending, same as login

Other recipients at different domains do accept mails. Even my google mail account accepts them with spf pass.

What might be the reason for "Relaying denied" at this isp?
Wrong setup / misconfiguration?

Below is the bounced mail.

Thanks in advance,
jac

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 24 hours on the queue on server.sjachens.de.

The message identifier is: 1Rrn9E-0005Hg-VW
The subject of the message is: Topic?
The date of the message is: Mon, 30 Jan 2012 10:03:10 +0100

The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is:

Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT
TO:<[email protected]>:
host mx-x0.ewetel.de [212.6.122.XXX]: 450 4.7.1
<[email protected]>... Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged
[vps.shared.ip.xxx]

No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for

Hi!

I looked up the error message "IP name possibly forged" by google and found that this *might* be due to wrong PTR configuration.

When using mxtoolbox.com I enter:
mydomain.de which resolves to 1.1.1.1 (shared IP)
then looking up 1.1.1.1 up it resolves to server.myserver.de which is on another ip (1.1.1.2)

Might this be a problem? If yes, where to fix it?

1.1.1.1 (changed from original IP) = my shared IP where mydomain.de is on
