remote backup question

    It's possibility to run cPanel backup but not to create it on localhost in /backup but via rsync to other server?

    Hello,

    It is possible to have backups on remote servers using rsync method. you will have to create a shell script (backup.sh) and set a schedule task for the same.

    Using the above method you can specify the specific data, partition you wish to have backed up on the remote server.

    But i'd like to have accounts maked by cPanel backup where i have all etc files, databases and all user ($HOME) files in one .tar.gz file if i use rsync to backup /home i wouldn't have it.

    if you have backup configured it woudl be best to backup the backup drive, this way you have atleast one working copy of your /home/~users/ files and DB etc.

    you can very well use rsync to move your /backup to a remote location on a set cron timings.
