My remote back up to another server works fine, however the backup leaves the temporary upload file in the remote server backup directory. For example it will leave a 2.5GB file by the name like .pureftpd.upload.43faecfa.15.10b9.5df5bc22a

All the accounts are unpacked correctly into the directory, and backup completes normally, it just does not remove that huge upload file. I discovered this because I started running of disk space. There were several of these huge files. So now I have to manually delete them every day.

Is there a fix for this? Or must I set up a cron to rm /fullpath/.pureftpd.upload.* daily?

    Go on, have a guess
AFAIAA, those files are left around by pure-ftpd if the FTP transfer or connection fails for any reason - check the output from the FTP transfer very carefully to ensure there are no errors being reported.
