    Hi,
I have some server on which I have configured the backup on remote destinations. But I am a bit confused. Does the remote backup send the backup one account each or it has some threshold of number of accounts which are rsynced to the remote destination. I am a bit short on space on my servers on which I have remote backup configured. The Space varies from 100 GB to 200 GB free and my home directory on which accounts are created is 1.2 TB to 1.5 TB. If there is some tuning in the configuration it would be highly appreciated.

    Hello,

The backup archives are queued for transport to the remote destination once they are packaged into .tar.gz files, and removed from the cPanel server once each transfer is complete. However, you may notice that more than one archive exists on the cPanel server at the same time during the backup process because only one archive is transferred at a time. The best approach at conserving disk space on the local system would be to use incremental backups. Remote incremental backups are currently only supported with the "rsync" destination type, however I encourage you to open a feature request to add support for remote incremental backups with the specific destination you are using:

    Thank you.

Yes that's what it should do but unfortunately the backups are stacked on the local server even though they are fully packed in .tar.gz. So I have to manually rsync them to the remote destination. I dont know why this is happening on the other hand on my other servers the backups are transferred once the archive is complete and one account is transferred rather stacking the whole lot. After end of the backup below log is generated of each backup:

I have also validated the remote destination and validated without any issue.

    Hello,

Could you review /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup_transporter.log and let us know of any specific error messages or output to this log during the backup process? Also, which version of cPanel is installed on this system and the contents of the /var/cpanel/backups/config file?

    Thank you.

I further diagnosed and came to know that I used a different user (non root) where as on the remote destination where the data was rsynced had root ownership. Thanks for the assist. You may mark this thread as solved.
