    Hoping someone can guide me.

I want to setup our WHM servers to backup to a system we have in house via FTP. Whilst the the setup looks relatively simple I have a question.

Is it possible to only back up to an FTP area? I don't want to store a backup on our server, but looking at the setup options, it appears by turning on the backup service, it will enforce a copy being created on the server itself.

So can it be made to backup to FTP only?

    Hello :)

The backup generation itself will occur on the local server first before it's transferred to the remote destination server. However, a copy is only retained on the local server if you enable the following option in "WHM >> Backup Configuration":

"Retain backups in the default backup directory."

    Thank you.
