I successfully set up and configured a second server for use as a dedicated mysql server. I then manually copied over all the databases and updated the access permissions so that the old server was allowed to access the new one. From the old server, I was successfully able to log in to the new server using user account info. However, that is all I could do.

cPanel/whm scripts - horde, eximstats, et al, still used the local server. All customers would now have to update their connection strings. cPanel mysql databases script could not see the mysql databases nor could phpmyadmin - they were trying to look at 'localhost'.

Does cpanel support remote mysql servers correctly? If so, HOW? What is the correct methods to get it to work? (The tool in whm only sets it up and that's all it appears to do).
