    Have you granted 'root@your_servername.com' or 'root@your_isp_Ip_address' privileges to access any databases?

    # mysql -h your_servername.com -uroot mysql -p

    <enter current mysql root pass>

    If you get denied access, then you need to add a password and GRANT privileges onto the databases that you want to access for root@servername.com or root@your_isp_Ip_address
