Hi there

I pay the license fees, I would like the option to turn off advertising inside WHM. I find this advertising to irrelevant to me and it's very invasive in the UI.

For example,

jetbackups ads
cloudlinux ads
litspeed ads
Get ImunifyAV+
Get KernelCare

How can we do that? If not, why not?

This is possibly outside the GUI: cPanel: Disabling cPanel Store Promotions – Richy's Random Ramblings :

1. Create a file (as root) called /etc/cpsources.conf

2. In that file add the following line:

STORE_SERVER_URL=https://invalid.example.com/

(or any non-resolvable URL you like)

WHM/cPanel will then be unable to fetch the list of available products and will fall back to not promoting them.
You might need to run chattr +i /etc/cpsources.conf to stop cPanel updating that file itself. It might also stop some AutoSSL functionality, but I haven't checked that myself - so just be cautious (as the cPanel AutoSSL certificates are issued through the store).

@WorkinOnIt - at this time, the team has confirmed there is not a way to remove those notifications from the interface. I went ahead and created Remove advertising from inside WHM and I'll bring that up with the team during our meeting next week.

Thank you - I will request you keep this open until we have some resolution. Cheers

BTW if cPanel don't want to allow us to remove ads, then they could consider someting similar to "Netflix's new ad-based plan" - e.g. reduced fees :-D

Yes, there should be an option to disable the ads

@kodeslogic - since you're a Partner, you'd have Manage2 access. Disabling the options at the Manage2 level keeps those from appearing in all your licensed machines. We have more details on that here: Update Company Information | cPanel & WHM Documentation

@WorkinOnIt - the team has decided these features should only be something that can be disabled by Partners through Manage2, so we don't plan to add a function for individual license holders to disable those at this time. I'm going to be replying to the feature request with this information as well.
