Can I totally remove the IMAP, POP3 and SMTP services from a cPanel server (i.e.: uninstall the relevant packages)? I wish to use another mailserver.

Or can I change the ports on which all these services listen so that I can install my own mailserver including sendmail?

Note by uninstalling the services cPanel uses for mail and replacing them with other services, you will sacrifice email integration with cPanel/WHM.

Right. So just uninstall the relevant packages?

Note, /scripts/upcp (the cPanel/WHM upgrade script) may re-install missing packages.

Uninstalling/disabling the services that power functionality will not automatically disable that functionality in the cPanel/WHM interfaces. Remember to disable all mail functionality via Feature Manager (WHM -> Packages -> Feature Manager) to prevent confusion with your users.

    Remove Cpanel Mail Section

    Thank you!

This is exactly what I needed. We are also using cpanel with an external mail server.

    Thanks again!
