I'm hoping that since DNS-only Cpanel is "relatively" small, removing it would be a simple matter of deleting a few initrd scripts, and the /usr/local/cpanel and /scripts/ folders... any such luck?

I installed dns-only in hopes of doing some master-slave replication of my zones, only to realize that the "cluster" utility only replicates zones that are created through the cpanel interface, not any zone in named.conf... and it doesnt seem to do that particularly well either.

Note that cPanel DNS-Only is only designed for use with cPanel/WHM servers.

Please also note that uninstalling this is the same process as uninstalling full cPanel, a full restore of the server.

None of my zones would "Sync" between servers, after setting up the cluster keys and such. I had to root around in the /scripts/ dir before anything would work, and since all the zones were setup as master on both servers, instead of slave on one, you'd have to do an rndc reload on both servers after any change. Seems rather silly to me, I could have just as easily copied the /var/named/ dir and /etc/named.conf from one server to the other to achieve the same effect.

Yes, this was on a cpanel/whm server. Just because I know how to add domains to named.conf outside of cPanel shouldnt negate it from working...

Yes, I realize this is your boilerplate response to such inquiries, which is why I posted here, instead of opening a ticket. I want to see if anyone has tried just removing some of the stuff cpanel installs, as the dns-only version should do a lot less damage.
