Lately, for the past two weeks or so, I've noticed that a renewed SSL certificate is not taking effect right way. That is, we use WHM to install the new cert, then the WHM page gives us the feedback "SSL certificate renewed successfully..." or something to that effect. But then when I check for the new expiration date on the cert using a web browser, it looks as if the cert was never renewed.

The last time this happened, an hour or so later, we checked again and the certificate expiration date was updated.

I've also noticed that when pasting the certificate code into the text field (after clicking "Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain") we get what appear to be a massive amount of bad line breaks in the code, which I have never seen before with this WHM utility.

Anyone have any idea what may be going on with this?

Or perhaps a better question, how can we get a newly installed (renewed) cert to take effect quicker, is there a cache somewhere we could clear.

    Thanks!

You can try removing the SSL certificate via WHM and reinstalling if the problem is with the installation/Apache not restarting. However, it's most likely your browser doing this.

Clear your browser cache! 99% of the time this is the issue for me. :)

    Thanks for the responses.

Actually in this case I found that the WHM system was not updating the new cert for some reason. So I just moved the account do a different server, re-did the cert update and that worked.

Still getting the weirdness in the SSL field however, i.e. with all the bad line wraps in the certificate code. This does not seem to bother the system but I wonder if others are seeing this as well?

    Thanks again.
