    Hi,

    After viewing the access_log I noticed about a gazillion of these entries, all in a repeating pattern:

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:06:05 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 400 10070 "-" "-"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:06:32 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 111 "-" "python-requests/2.10.0"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:07:12 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 111 "-" "python-requests/2.10.0"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:07:52 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 111 "-" "python-requests/2.10.0"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:08:32 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 111 "-" "python-requests/2.10.0"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:09:12 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 111 "-" "python-requests/2.10.0"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:09:52 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 111 "-" "python-requests/2.10.0"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:10:02 +0200] "GET /whm-server-status HTTP/1.0" 200 35960 "-" "-"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:10:03 +0200] "GET /whm-server-status?auto HTTP/1.1" 200 1162 "-" "munin/2.0.25 (libwww-perl/6.15)"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:10:07 +0200] "GET /whm-server-status?auto HTTP/1.1" 200 1162 "-" "munin/2.0.25 (libwww-perl/6.15)"
    127.0.0.1 - - [02/Aug/2017:08:10:08 +0200] "GET /whm-server-status?auto HTTP/1.1" 200 1162 "-" "munin/2.0.25 (libwww-perl/6.15)"
    I tried a search query on the internetz that sadly yielded no results.

    Any knowledgeable people here who know what or why this is?

    Thanks,

    W.

    Hello,

    The 127.0.0.1 address indicates the connections are initiated locally from the cPanel server. Requests to "whm-server-status" are normal, and used when Chkservd verifies if Apache is up.

    As far as the "python-requests" entries, do you have any plugins installed, or scripts uploaded to websites, that use Python?

    Thank you.

    Hi @cPanelMichael

    Do you ever sleep? Take good care of yourself. We all need you to be in good health... ;-)

    As far as I know only CL uses Python for its OS functions/packages. This purpose of this VPS will be to only run WP and it's specific problems and a.t.m has only exotic plugins installed; xVarnish/Cachewall. I believe it's save to asume that Cachewall only uses Varnish.

    And as we write, top shows me this:

    Code:

     PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
    7820   root   30  10  428m 2656  620  S    0.7       0.1    13:09.36  python2.7

    Fascinating stuff, but a.t.s.t. still gibberish to me.

    Thanks again!

    W.

    I recommend reaching out to the developer of that plugin to verify if it uses Python to connect to Apache for any of it's functionality.

    Thank you.

    @cPanelMichael

    Will do!

    A.t.m. I have an unaswered ticket and I am keeping an eye out to see how long it takes to get back at me.

    if( a >= 72 ) {
    dev/null
    }
    or something like that.

    Just to be sure I will bother the support engineers on the CL Forum and see what info I can nag out of them. I will update this post when I get some information.

    Again, have a great day!

    W.
