    WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.1-R2

Resellers can create new accounts without any problems.

When they try do upgrade/downgrade, the following error:

You do not have access to create that package (xxxx)

There is no problem when creating a new account using package xxxx, just when you try to upgrade/downgrade to it.

    Any ideas?

This is also a problem with the main WHM root as well,
only when you go to upgrade/downgrade it will do it but overriding your package prefferences. So I had submitted a bug ticket in this morning.

I sent them the information they requested for, so I will let you know how they resolved it when they get back to me.

    Regards,

    Pete

    I confirm...

Regardless of the ammount of bandwidth typed, it uses Unlimited bandwidth ( which I do not allow for resellers ).

It also enables shell access, even when not clicked...

Can you put the Ticket number in your post ???

Can you add my comments to your ticket ?

I too, had/have the same problem with  WHM 8.4.0 cPanel 8.5.0-E9 & E10  whereas, it wasn't until upgrading to those releases that I had the problem.

    +-------------------------------------------------------------+
    Fri Oct 10 16:25:27 EDT 2003
    8.5.0-EDGE_9
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
fixed a problem with \0 being sent to scripts at the end
of the form data that prevented dns zones from being editted

    --

I figured there was still a problem and seemed to be proven correct; I downgraded to WHM 8.4.0 cPanel 8.4.0-R91 and the problem went away. DarkOrb was not able to reproduce the same problem though.

    Upgrades to:

    WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.0-E22
    WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.1-E1
    WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.3-E1

brought back the problem with all of them.

The big tip-off is the square box beside the Package name -- after you click the Change button -- which indicates an illegal character or incorrect coding.

Anyone known the character code for a square box to better illustrate the exact error msg.? ;)

Well it has been over 24 hours and still no answer from cpanel about the "BUG" that I have reported in the upgrade/downgrade not creating the package.

I am a little upset since they are on Stable 8.5.3 and the problem still exist.

I think every one with this problem should report as well..

    Problem Solved

DarkOrb replied to my Ticket and suggested I run the following:

    /scripts/updatenow ; /scripts/upcp ; service cpanel stop ; service cpanel start

This solved the problem and from now on will be referred to as my, "adjustable wrench command line" -- good for most any problem. :D

    Solved indeed

I guess I will have to add that to my list of favourite commands.

    Are you saying: /scripts/fixcommonproblems rpmup

    solved the problem for you?

I had previoulsy run both: fixcommonproblems & fixeverything but neither one did anything.
