Reseller effective user ID

    I have a reseller that just created a new account and I am getting a new alert email that I assume is from the upgrade that was just done for cPanel. I am concerned by the message that I may not have something setup right.

    Here is the message that has me concerned.

    "The account was set up by the reseller “*******” with the effective user ID of “root”.

    Why is this reseller able to create an account with an ID of root?

    To update, internal case CPANEL-1557 was opened to omit the effective user ID part of the new account notification when creating accounts with resellers, as the user will always have an effective UID of root. You can monitor our change logs for this case number at:

    Hello,

    Sorry to open this old thread. But I do have the same issue and it is still displaying

    The account was set up by the reseller “reselleruser” with the effective UID of “root”.


    WHM 56.0 (build 24)
    Any update to this issue?

    CPANEL-1557 is still open at this time. There's currently no specific time frame on a resolution, however I've noted this forums thread in the case.
