Hi all,

In detail, this is what I want to do:

- Have a reseller account with another host (let's name my reseller domain as domain1.com with nameservers being ns1. and ns2.domain1.com)

- Got myself a brand new dedicated server (domain for this server is not domain1.com)

- Want to manually migrate my own reseller account (domain1.com) back to my own dedicated server

- Added new account on my server (as domain1.com) and proceed to Reseller Center to give reseller rights and try setting up nameserver (I wanted to use back the same nameserver names ns1/ns2.domain1.com on my new server so that I can just go to my registrar and change IP address for both the existing ns1/ns2 to reflect the IP on my new server)

This is the problem I faced:
Trying the last step, to assign IP for the nameserver (ns1/ns2) on my dedicated box's WHM, I got the following error:

Sorry, the nameserver ns1.domain1.com already has the ip x.x.x.x assigned to it.

The x.x.x.x being the IP of my current reseller nameserver IP with my old host.

-------
How do I fix this?

You have to go to your registra and update your name servers which reflect new ip's which you can assign.

1. go to your domain registra enom or whatever.

2. Enom now has a section which allows you to update your nameservers, put in the old ip, the new ip and the nameserver click update.

then go back to whm and update the nameservers.

not sure if its immediate but I did mine a few minutes later and the new ips were ready to go.

bye.
