Maybe I&m not seeing it... but how can I add a reseller without assigning a domain to his account?

I think you MUST create an account first and then give that account owner reseller access. If you don't want to give the reseller a domain name, you could always create an account using a subdomain (i.e. reseller1.yourhosting.com) or you might even be able to use a fake domain name. But there must be an account that is listed in the drop down menu in reseller center.

We have a few people that host their sites elsewhere but use us as their provider for reselling. What we do is setup the account with their domain. Even though it isn't on our server. This way if in the future they decide to move it all they have to do is change DNS.

The only problem with doing this is email you send to their domain will not leave the server. They will need to login to webmail for the domain.

The way I fix this is delete the MX records and they receive mail fine.
