Hello,

I have an user who use his hosting account as only a "DNS zone management console"
He has been deleted lot of his domains accidentally.

If I try to restore this account from cPanel backup, at the restoration process cPanel overwrites all DNS zones with the host sever IP address.
That is wrong, since this account is only a "dns" account.

How to prevent cPanel overwrite IPs at the account restoration process from full cpanel backup file?

I hope you understand my question.:))

thank you

you can after restored backup change ip and dns entries from whm, or you can create a new account from new server after that upload the files at file manager, after that create a databases and configured with configuration.php or config.php files after that go to phpmyadmin select database and import the database select the Mysql file from backup you can restore file and mysql of this account without dns error.
Notice: you enter same username with old hosting, if you don't enter the same old username to new account you should to change username account from mysql database backup files to new username account.

i happy if am help you.

Hello :)

You can manually extract the backup archive and fine the DNS zones in the following location:

/path/to/cpmove-$username/dnszones

Review the zones to make sure they have the correct entries, and then manually restore those zone files to the /var/named directory after restoring the account. You can follow the instructions in the following post to increment the zone serials after completing these actions:

Increment Serials in Zones

Thank you.
