Hi there,

i am somewhat at a loss. I have a (potential) client using Drupal. I use locally for all my development work XAMPP. Now the client sent me a backup of the entire site (including Drupal) that he did with cPanel from his Hosting Provider. I was able to restore the database, however i just can't get the rest of the site to run with the backed up Drupal installation. Is there an easy way to restore from a complete cPanel backup? I do not have cPanel running locally ... and am not planning to, as i do not want to spend money on a program i will rarely ever use.

Any hints on how to easily restore would be most welcome.

Thank you

regards
Andi

You might need to edit the config file for the drupal installation to let it know what the DB/username is locally. If the files are in the correct directory and the config file is correct for the local server setup and it doesn't work, check your server setup.
