Ok, so here is the deal:

I am moving my reseller account from one provider to another.

My new provider does not want to deal with moving my accounts and suggested that I use CPanel's backup feature to restore each site individually.

Does anyone know how to restore a complete backup from within CPanel or ssh with the backup file located on the server?

I don't have any problems with doing this for each of my accounts, but i do have a problem with having to upload the huge backup files 3-5 times each to do the individual restores. (Home folder, MySQL, and then Alias/Filters)

Any and all suggestions are welcome

    Thanks in advance.

    me too

I'd like to get some info on this as well. I know in the past cpanel "full" restores were not complete or had problems. However I just downloaded and checked two domains on my server, and it appears all account settings, databases, tables, etc. ARE actually backed up.

My question is when you have a generated a FULL backup, how do you do a restore from within CPANEL (as the end user)?

I see the ability to upload a "home" backup, and/or mysql backups... but nothing for the "FULL" backup which seems to include all the config files, email info etc.

How is this done from within CPanel. (Not WHM)

    Thanks in advance.

    The answer:

It CAN'T be done in CPANEL.

Full backups are designed for remote FTPing or restoration in WHM. Use the separate /home, MySQL, Filters and Aliases downloads if you want to restore them in CPANEL.

Have your host.. give you access to your daily backups..

wget them to the new server

    place them in /home/

    run /scripts/restorepkg username

    -bash-2.05b$ /scripts/restorepkg gopyroc
    -bash: /scripts/restorepkg: Permission denied

Is there a way my provider can give me (reseller) privileges in my whm to restore complete backups?

you NEED root access to the box to perform these actions..

otherwise get your provider to do them.
