I recently did a /script/restorepkg on one of my accounts and now ON THAT ACCOUNT ONLY I cannot login with ftp.

I tried switching from pure-ftp to proftp and back, I made sure the password is correct (as far as I know, there is no pure-pw files it just uses shell passwords) and I tried using the FTP password repair tool.

    I get a 530 error.

/var/log/messages contains no details, it just reiterates the 530 error. What should I do? It is vital I be able to ftp into this account on this server.

I logged into cPanel and did the change password and it said you can't change the password to the same thing, so I know the password is right.
I logged in through shell and did passwd <user> and changed it anyway.

    Still no go :(

Have you tried setting a new password for the account?
