Reverse name lookup

How often does cpanel do reverse name lookups? It seems like the logs indicate it is doing them all the time. Is there a configuration somewhere that can turn this off?

The problem is when someone with a reverse lookup DNS that is unavailable tries to use cppop, it hangs long enough to time out the MUA\'s connection.

Is there a workaround, short of disabling all reverse lookups on the machine (by claiming to be authoritative to .in-addr.arpa)?

I am not sure but it seems like FTP logs are written like this and some of my clients get slow FTP.

The delay in the pop thing, if it happens server wide to everyone might be a dead or slow nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf

I am very interested in this one as well. My FTP is fine for many but slow as hell for others.
