    A customer is asking me if I can modify my http.conf file, adding the below information:

    <VirtualHost *>
    ServerAdmin webmaster@hisdomain.com
    ServerName zoperoot.hisdomain.com

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/zoperoot.hisdomain.com.com:80/$1 [L,P]

    #---PLEASE CHANGE NEXT 2 LINES if you want to
    ErrorLog logs/www.hisdomain.com-error_log
    CustomLog logs/www.hisdomain-access_log common
    </VirtualHost>

    Does anyone know what this is going to do, and if it would be safe for me to add for him?

    I would suggest NO.

    Although most RewriteRule can be run from an .htaccess file within the account itself, for the rule this person wants they should get their own Server. That's just me though. :)
