    When running /etc/init.d/named restart;start;stop I get

Stopping named: rndc: connection to remote host closed
This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of
the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect,
    or the key is invalid

I have run /scripts/fixndc and I'm running RedHat 9.0 with the latest Release of cPanel and never had any problems until I got a redHat 9 box.

We had the same problem on our RH9 Boxes...

RH9 uses rndc-key instead of rndckey in named.conf. Once you delete the - all should be OK.

Thank you, that fixed the issue.

Interesting. We have a Server using RH 9.x and a rndc-key entry and never had a problem.

    Try to run

/etc/init.d/named restart at your SSH prompt and see if you have an issue. It also caused problems with subdomains not working and new domains not resolving unless you restarted bind.
