RNDC with PowerDNS

We have now changed from BIND to PowerDNS across our cPanel infrastructure on both normal cPanel servers as well as the DNSOnly servers. This was done to fulfill a new requirement for providers on nameservices for .dk domains, as it is now a requirement to support DNSSEC on all domains.
While this still works, we have noticed that RNDC replication from non-cPanel servers, does no longer work, as port 953 is now used by the PowerDNS webserver.
What are the options for having RNDC replication with PowerDNS on cPanel servers? Are there any options for this at all or would we need to reimplement zones from non-cPanel servers using a different approach, such as the cPanel API?

Syncing to non-cPanel systems isn't something we test on our side, so I can't say for sure how that should be behaving. Are you using a separate application that typically runs on port 953?
