Hi, I just change with the WHM the root password with something like <?=mypassd;?> and I cannot log in anymore !

Does cpanel ignore some caracters or convert them to another like adding slashes or anything ??

I don't want to get 2hours of road, physically hack my server to change my password ! I know the one I type is correct, so what the cpanel does with it ?

Tanks

I wonder if it didn't change < to < and > to >
making your password: <?=mypassd;?>

edit: I can reproduce this, but my suggestion isn't correct. I'm trying to figure out what
my new root password actually is on this test box now. You should open a ticket with
cPanel though.

edit x'2: ah ha, so the suggestion was correct.

Glad to hear everything worked out :)

A report about this was file with our developers as the special characters should not be transformed.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
