is this secure to connect to https://serverdomain.com:2087
because Root password is entered before establishing a secure connection

if some malwares process packets at the gateway then root password will be revealed

    am I wrong?

I tried secure tunneling and contacting 2086 but it returns:
"Ooops! I lost your webpage [./http://serverdomain.com:2086/] and I don't know where it went!!??!!
    Please forgive me"

after asking our network provider to do so, ITF, solved securetunneling, but we want to give reseller accounts and they have to access those whm ports why cpanel does not offer a tweak that let us assign a specific IP for root access to WHM/cpanel or implement some sort of ways to avoid root password requirements or ask it after establishing a secure connection
