Root Shell Access (WHM 11.46) - Package Disabled

Hello all,

I have just inherited a web client. They have a VPS just for one website...the VPS is running Centos 5.11 WHM 11.46.

I cannot gain SSH access using root to run a yum update. In fact, no SSH access at all. The OS and cPanel are out of date so really need to be updated.

I do have web root access to WHM.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction so I can enable root SSH?
