Certain files where vanished while rsyncing a home folder between servers . Do i have to do rsync from the begining for the complete transfer ? Please let me know know the steps to be performed after rsyncing a home folder .

Well, that depends on what switches you use(d) with rsync.

Basically, rsync compares the source and destination, and based on the settings you've used, can send changes one way, delete files, etc. There isn't really a way to 'restart' rsync from where you left off. If a file exists in both places, and you haven't told rsysnc to delete it or copy it again, it'll ignore it and move on.

Please note that the even though the file exists the size of some files which are copied differs from the original one .
So can i confirm the transfer is complete ?
