When i run /scripts/upcp, after it downloads the new build and runs the rsync. The rsync just runs again and again in memory and doesn't stop newhere. When i see the ps -aux, i see multiple instances rsync, top shows almost the entire server processes taken by rsync. This eventually ends up in the entire server crashing and then it has to be hard rebooted as all cpanel / WHM crashes, all services crashes, ssh also doesn't work (as the sshd is crashed).

Can anyone please help me on this one ?

    regards,

Can you run rsync from the command line as root?
    Or does it error out?

I would try reinstalling the RPM from scratch (get the latest for your distro version at www.rpmfind.net)

    rpm -Uvh --force rsync-####
