    Hello,

I just noticed that rsyslogd has now "appeared" under Service Manager. What is the purpose of rsyslogd?

It's a replacement for syslogd that is available in RHEL/CentOS 5 and newer. Due to the way the Service Manager interface works at this time, there is no way of limiting it to displaying only applications that are installed. Hence, all services it supports are displayed.
