I'm looking for a good tool to monitor for runaway cgi / perl scripts. Today I found 10 instances of a specific script that were each running for over an hour of cpu time and taking 100% of the cpu. I'm looking for the best way to monitor and kill user cgi scripts that have taken more than 10 minutes for cpu time for example.

    Go on, have a guess
csf goes some way to doing that by checking processes running under a user account and if they breach specified resource limits you can also have them killed.
