I'm not sure what I've done wrong, but when I try to run apache as DSO the server runs out of memory in the next 1-2 minutes, crashes the process and then takes about 2-3 minutes to start back up.

Using latest stable cpanel, and php 5.3.18

Any tips/advice or what to look for is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

What have you set at the MPM? It is rare, but I have run into a few situations where easyapache does not have the appropriate MPM compiled in which will cause DSO to go completely nuts. In cases like this, I run easyapache and make sure to select MPM_Prefork.
