Running PDFs from cPanel, is this possible?

We are in the process of figuring out how to set up a new cPanel plugin that will basically put a new icon in cPanel, which links to a series of instructional PDFs. However, when clicking on a PDF link from within cPanel we just get scrambled code, i.e. cPanel does not recognize the PDF file type.

Question - How can we add the PDF file type to the cPanel system, NOT so that PDFs will load from regular web sites, that's no problem, but actually from within cPanel itself? I hope this is possible, we've put a lot of planning into this, and are currently stuck on the cPanel/filetype issue.

Thanks very much.

The mime type will be added in 33774+
We're currently useing:
cPanel 11.24.4-R33609 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9

Thanks Nick, but we are currently in a jam with this, trying to roll out a very expensive promotion (that is approximately two weeks late already), and we are very much depending on PDFs running from cPanel now. Is there no way we can do this now, on our own? Should I make out a trouble ticket with cPanel.net?

There isn't any way to change this as the secure file list is hard coded.

There will probably be an EDGE and BETA build (and maybe CURRENT) published with this change in the next 24-72 hours.

Rats! And by the way, we also tried .htacces, to insert the PDF filetype there, and this was a no-go.

So when (approximately) will 33774+ be out?

Thanks.

I think we are going to bridge the gap by coming up with some kind of auto-login system, i.e. so PDFs can be easily downloaded via link/button that connects to a PDF on a regular Apache but htaccess protected directory. But this of course is for another thread.

Thanks for your responses.
