Get the linux server files from http://www.shoutcast.com and upload sc_serv and sc_serv.conf a user's directory. sc_serv should be executable.

Using Cpanel's cron configuration under the account, simply run the command as ./sc_serv > /dev/null 2>&1

As for timing, well you can make it every 5 minutes if you want. What happens is sc_serv will see that the port is already taken and close. In the event the shoutcast server has crashed, the next cronjob will pick up where it left off and start a server that actually uses the port.

Voila, the shoutcast server runs under the user of which the cronjob is meant for.

Works if you have jailed accounts without creating a virtfs filesystem!

On that note, this is how easy a user can run a program even if they have no shell or a jailshell.

If you have munin installed as one of the WHM Addons, then there is a shoutcast plugin for it that will graph any stations you have.

    chkserv with shoutcast

Can you explain better?, I'm interested in this point to monitor shoutcast through Cpanel

You can make a complete example of such as step by step make the installation and configuration of shoutcast monitored with chkserv in Cpanel?

Clear that from the standpoint that each account can have their radio station. Example /home/user/shoutcast

    Thanks
