I just checked the demo, I like the idea.

But I found it very confusing...

Example go to the add/remove emails. Its has all those icons but what do they do. In aother words is not very userfriedly I had not clue which one was for changing the password etc.

I haven't gone all the way but I think it stillneeds work on.

Thanks for your recomendation. It's dilemma to choose between icon or text link. And finally I choose the icon. It's not impressive when be just text.

I will add more description below the email list might help.

    icons are fine

add a title attribute though (alt attributes don't show in all browsers)

this way all browsers can see a "tooltip" of what it does.

The email account list is generated by Cpanel and we cannot format it or add any attribute into the image tag. It might be possilbe if we use new cpanel api, but it don't have any document or a clue on it. So we don't take risk to do that.

    1. Do you get permission to modify xskin?

    2. It's possilble to use rvskinmanager with any skin. By Rvskinmanager, you will have 99 variables added, what you need to do is integrate them with your skin using <cpanelif>

    <cpanelif $CPDATA{'r_m_mx'}>
    .....
    </cpanelif>

, but are you sure? You might need to spend around 40 -120 hours to change 200 files. And surly when you intergrated to your skin you might not gain benefit if there is new function introduced, especially multi-language theme we are working on.

    Re: skin

That one might look nice, but it doesn't have the skin management features of rvskin.

    Hi,

We have purchased rvskin and can we just say how impressed we are with it and the support from the developers.

They listen to the suggestions from their users and add the functionality requested where possible!

We are awaiting on small update and will then be switching all accounts to this fantastic skin!!

    Kind Regards,

    Neil

I am very interested in rvskin as well.

I have some questions though. It seems pretty straight forward in terms of me administering my own hosting clients.

But with the resellers, do they get a modified WHM as well?

Can I set options with the reseller rvmanager skin so they can only change certain functions?

If i dont give rvmanager access to my resellers, can they still upload their logo?

All your question is possible in rvskin.

you can choose to allow reseller to modify configuration, or use your configuration.

If you don't allow reseller to change the skin configuration, you still have an option to allow reseller upload logo, and customized url link for customer support, help, and home link. This can be done in global setting.

    What about the resellers WHM?

I did not see one in the demo on your site. Does rvmanager let me choose which options they see in their WHM or only in cpanel?

rvskinmanager don't do anything in reseller WHM.

Actually in root WHM you already have option to show/hide options for reseller WHM

    WHM->reseller center
    - when you add or edit privileges for reseller you can choose which option reseller is able to see in his WHM. Although it's not all options but it's sufficient.

What would be useful is to include help tips for each feature to make it easy to understand for the end user.

That's a good idea. What I am concern is the skin need to be neutral for all hoster, on the same feature from one hosting might be different from others due to custom setting or various reason.

I might create standard help tip include in the skin, and give server owner/reseller to customize the help tips.

    Thanks for suggestion.

    RVSkin.

Im new to CPanel and im about to signup for a new linux box, and planning to install cpanel to administrate it.

I visited your page, and saw the three demos available (root, reseller, client) and all three looked the same to me.

Where are the options to create new packages in the root account, create and manage users, reboot server, and all that stuff???

Ill tell you what i need, and you tell if thats possible and how much would it cost.

    The box includes the following.

    P4 2.00 GHZ
    1.5 GB RAM
    2 x 80 HD

    RedHat 7.3 RPM install version
    RedHat 7.3
    Apache 1.3.27-2
    Qmail 1.0.3
    Bind 9.2.1
    MySQL 3.23.49-3
    mod_perl 1.26-5
    Kernel 2.4.18-24.7.x
    EXT3 Filesystem
    PHP 4.1.2-7
    PERL 5.6.1-34.99.6
    OpenSSH 3.1p1-6

This will be used to host my site which is not related to host, hosting or anything like that.

But also i want to become a reseller of hosting services and planning to install Cpanel, this is what i need.

No matter what package a client signs up, it must contain (the number available for each one will depend on what package they sign up):

    add-remove email addresses
    default emails
    autoresponders
    block emails
    forwarding
    mailing lists
    spamm assasin
    modify MX records
    --
    change password
    ftp manager
    file manager
    backup
    index manager
    --
    web ftp access
    latest visitors
    raw access log
    error log
    bandwith
    --
all presintalled cgi scripts under the CGI center
    --

And depending under which plan the user signs up, the package must contain all of the above plus:

    php
    fp extension
    mysql databases
    subdomains
    custom error types
    password protected directories
    parked domains, etc, etc.
    phpBB forums
    shopping cart,
    etc, etc

Im planning to create 5 packages (ill send you a list of the features of each package)

Also i want to create 3 reseller accounts.

And all this must be in spanish.

Can you do this for me??
and how much will it cost me (installing Cpanel, Configuring it) and also installing a firewall

    thanks.

    Carlos.

Once you install Cpanel you will get Cpanel/WHM to manage your server,

    Web Host Manager Demo [http://whmdemo.cpanel.net:2086] [user:root] [pass:whmdemo]

    cPanel Demo [http://cpaneldemo.cpanel.net:2082] [user:cpdemo] [pass:cpdemo]

Above link is a default control panel which come from Cpanel.net. The trouble is Cpanel.net don't provide you the skin manager to control which options to show on which user package. So Rvskin come to solve your problem. When you plug rvskin into your cpanel server, you can decide which option to show or hide.

We don't have enough resources to do those stuff right now. There are some people around this forum do it you might post another thread to find one.

Hello, i tried the demo but didnt seem to be able to get into the reseller portion. Maybe i need to drop my cookies or something but i have tried the 3 demos and dont see a difference. I was interested in looking at the reseller theme. Also, does this remove the ability for my reseller to give the default theme + all the others available? If i purchase is there a way to force all my users to be able to select only the ravkin themes for their clients?
