    Hi guys,

I have 2 dedicated servers. Both have just 1 disk.
I would like to enable cpanel's backup option and have the backup saved to a samba shared on the 2nd disk.
    Anybody tried that? Any issues?

    Thanks a lot

    Go on, have a guess
If you do a search on the forums for samba backup you'll find various threads where people have asked the same question. The general consensus being that it's simply too slow because of the way cPanel creates the backup tarballs. You'd be much better off having the backups generated on disk as normal and then moving the resultant tarballs onto your samba share using a cron job that runs after the backups will have finished. If you don't have the space for that, then you're probably best off just using the remote FTP backup feature.
