I just noticed something very strange going on with my server. Immediately after I downgraded cPanel (The reason I did that was that my addon scripts didnt work after the automatic cPanel update), the '/samples/' directory on every single hosting account stopped working! So for example: www.yoursitename12345.com/samples/myimage.gif would never load, and www.yoursitename12345.com/samples/index.html would never load. However it was working perfectly before I did the downgrade. That is about the strangest problem I've ever seen. Even when I create new accounts, the /samples/ directory doesn't work. /sample/ works, and every single other directory works. I was told by my Data Center that it was an ISP problem, but that's probably not true, as users from around the world (who are obviously using different ISP's) are complaining about the exact same problem. The Data Center can't replicate the problem, as of course they have a direct connection to my server. Any ideas?

(I can of course just change the directory name from /samples/ to anything else and the problem goes away, but I have about 20 or more users who have software which relies on that directory, so I have to find a way to make the directory work. Also, the permissions are all correct, and I can have the exact same files in a different directory with the exact same permissions etc, and the new directory will work, but /samples/ never works.)

    Go on, have a guess
Sounds like you have a /samples/ Alias in httpd.conf. Have a search in httpd.conf for samples and see if anything turns up.

Thanks. Do you know where I could find it in the httpd.conf file? I searched for "samples" and it wasn't found.

Sorry, I guess it wouldn't have anything to do with httpd.conf if 'samples' wasn't found in the httpd.conf, correct? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

Try to telnet to your server on port 80 and emulate an HTTP request for a file within one of these samples directories and see what response you receive. This might give an indication as to what is going on.
