    Hi

    For the last couple of days I have started receiving this error on 2 of my servers.

    My guess is that it came after one of the night upcp's, but not sure whats changed to cause it.

    Here is the cron email that is sent:-
    Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this?

    cheers

    I noticed that on the 1st of December quite a lot of things got updated in the UPCP. pretty sure that one of them has caused the issue, but where to start?

    Well it looks like the program being referenced at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/i386-linux/DBI.pm line 279 is the Scalar-List one, but which file would it be calling which causes the error "error: Modification of a read-only value attempted " ?

    Thanks for the post, but the 2 servers I am having this issue on have perl 5.8.1 and 5.6.1 respectively, both with perl* in the exclude line of yum.conf

    Indeed. You'll almost definitely have problems staying on 5.6.1 and 5.8.1 might also have difficulties. Upgrading to 5.8.7 would be the way to go.

    Just tried to upgrade to 5.8.7 following cpanelben's instructions. When I try to check I have all the modules, I get errors.

    OK, I'm confused, and somewhat nervous. Things haven't crashed, but /scripts/upcp has similar failures when trying to add any missing modules. Some delving around shows me that that the "commit" function has moved from CPAN.pm to CPAN/HandleConfig.pm. I'm not a perl guru, but what do I need to change to make /scripts/realperlinstaller use commit from the new location?

    edit: NM. --> CPAN::HandleConfig::commit
    2nd edit: /scripts/upcp "breaks" /scripts/realperlinstaller as it gets downloaded again, so I see this in my UPCP logs -> "Undefined subroutine &CPAN::Config::commit called at /scripts/realperlinstaller line 95."

    I've updated to perl 5.8.7, but still am not able to run my runlogs file....it still gives these errors:

    And doesn't do anything?
