I am trying to update a few servers to make sure that I have some of the more up to date versions of cpanel (due to recent exploits). So I am doing this...

    root@host [~]# /scripts/updatenow

However it is simply producing an error..
updatenow should only be run from upcp at /scripts/updatenow line 10.

I ran /scripts/fixeverything last night in hoping that it would correct a few things but it did nothing. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is not working? Should I be performing updates in a different way? Let me know.

That means it is initiated by the script:

    /scripts/upcp --force

run that instead to force an update
