Tell me that there is a way somehow to add a secondary admin into WHM without having to go through a domain setup and everything for each one.
I don't want to release the root password, but at the same time, I want to give select staff members the ability to edit packages, add and remove users, and such... essentially nothing related to hardware or software installed, but the ability to manage things from a webhost-perspective.
Am I just overlooking this feature somewhere, or did the developers overlook it...?

    Go on, have a guess
There's no direct way to do it. Waht you can do is to create a reseller account with root privileges and allow them access through that.

One trick I use to avoid silly DNS entries and such is to give them the domain:
    staffname.mydomain.com
And just putting limits of either something reasonable that they can have for their own use, or just 10MB/10MB.
