Hello I was wondering if someone can give me some advise, we currently have our CPanel server which contains both ns1 & ns2 (please don’t flame me) I know for true redundancy we should have separate IP classes for each ns.

We have a Cobalt 4 server at a UK data centre which also holds separate DNS records for another domain and associated nameservers.

    Current Config

    Domain1: NS1 & NS2 Cpanel Server
    Domain2: NS1 & NS2 Cobalt Server

Q1: Can we use the raq to hold our ns2 records for domain 1, our is it worth getting a vps server from our server provider to handle ns2 and secondary mx services?

Q2: Can we have ns1 for the second domain sitting on the raq and use our Cpanel server to serve as ns2 for domain 2?

Q3: Can we create a trust between the two BIND versions 8.4 and 9.2?

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
