secure certificate for resellers in cPanel 11

    I know that in cPanel 10 is was not possible to have resellers access their control panels using secure certificates on their own domains due to the use of stunnel. Could someone tell me, now that cPanel has dropped stunnel, if it is possible for resellers to access their control panel via a secure domain other than the servers main domain e.g. https://www.resellerdomain.com:2083

    Depending on your settings in WHM all users should be able to access cPanel that way.

    WHM > Tweak Settings > System Section > uncheck this:
    When visiting /cpanel or /whm or /webmail with ssl redirect to the servers hostname.

    This does not work, no matter what you select for this option ssl connections are redirected to the host name. If you try to connect to https://resellerdomain.com:2083 a certificate warning pops up.

    Yes sure it pops up. The first time, or until you accept it and install.

    I must not understand you. If I go to:

    https://resellerdomain.com:2083, enter login details and of course, accept cert for obvious reasons, I'm taken to cPanel normally. To that domain name as typed.

    I think you are misunderstanding what I am asking. I know how cPanel 10 worked and was not able to provide correct secure certificates to reseller domains. What I am asking is now that cPanel 11 has dropped stunnel use is it possible for reseller domains to access cpanel through a resellers domain without a security warning.

    For example:

    The server name is server.myhost.com, the resellers domain is resellerdomain.com

    The resellers clients want to access cpanel via https://resellerdomain.com/cpanel or https://resellerdomain.com:2083 without a certificate warning stating that the secure certificate being issued if for server.myhost.com

    I'm also interested in this.

    cPanel always had this problem, it never redirected correctly to the resold domain, thus it used the SSL certificate of the server, which ofcourse is not valid for the resold domain.

    It is not just reseller accounts.

    With my own server the SERVER hostname is ww2.domain.com but regardless any setting in WHM the name mismatch security warning still popup while I also get "page contains both secure and non secure items" warnings at many places in WHM and Cpanel.

    Seems that the cPanel guys are unable to fix this problems.
