Hi. I understand that on dedicated servers, the root user can access the mbox files. Are there any tools that can secure servers against this kind of access? Any softwares I can install that Cpanel offers, or even outside of Cpanel? Thanks for any ideas.

afaik, root can access everything. If the email needs to be that secure, root isn't going to be as big a threat as just passing it around the net. I would think the email should be encrypted and then it will be secure. Keep in mind that standard email is about as private as a postcard.

Thanks. How can I encrypt email (where's the cpanel option?) and will this change the manner in which people get their emails in Outlook etc?

email encryption is done by the email program, not the server.

You'll have to find programs/plugins/addons for your email program to encrypt messages.
