    Hello!

I have searched the forums and did not find an answer.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have the option "My server requires Secure Password Authentication" checked in outlook express.

I have a certificate installed on the server and the advanced features are already set to.

Port for Secure incoming mailserver: 995
Port for Secure outgoing mailserver: 465
This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both Incoming and Outgoing Servers are checked.

Everything works fine when "My server requires Secure Password Authentication" is unchecked but when I check that I get the error:

Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account: 'xxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com', Server: 'mail.xxxxxxxx.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Command not implemented', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

If anyone can help it would realy be apreciated.

If I missed this in the search please let me know what post it is because I have been looking for days already.

    Thank you!

    Yes it is.

Have you tried connecting to the IP address or the host name instead of the domain?

    Sorry I was unclear before.

The hostname is what I am using as incoming and outgoing mailservers.
It is the hostname that has the secure certificate installed.

    Thank you!

Here is a testacount I have set up and below is the error message.

Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account: 'aolmail@worldics.com', Server: 'ns15.worldics.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Command not implemented', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Port for Secure incoming mailserver: 995
Port for Secure outgoing mailserver: 465
This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both Incoming and Outgoing Servers are checked.

    POP Server: ns15.worldics.com
    SMTP Server: ns15.worldics.com
    Certificate is installed on ns15.worldics.com

    Go on, have a guess
AFAIK, you cannot use SPA with cPanel's cppop, it's simply an SSL stunnel to standard POP3.
