Hello,

Currently, we have about 10 VPSs running CentOS 7.x. All are similar in design and software. But, on a group of older servers, as Security Advisor starts to run, it is stalled at the following...

Cpanel::Security::Advisor::Assessors::Apache 1.04

Nothing in the error logs (Cpanel or Apache). As well, we run Litespeed on all these servers. But, only a group of VPSs around a year or so old lock up on the Apache section.

I tried one idea of running security advisor notifications from Terminal, and even removed the lock files...nothing. Still stalling.

We currently run version cPanel & WHM v104.0.7 (Standard)

Open to any suggestions...

Hey there! There are a number of reasons that page can hang, but a common one is an issue with the resolvers on the machine. Can you confirm the entries in /etc/resolv.conf are working well? If there are issues with the resolvers some of the tools may not connect properly and can cause the interface to hang.

If the resolvers seem to be working well, you may need to submit a ticket to our team as we often need to perform a trace of the process in order to see the root cause of this behavior.

A quick update. Tonight, they finally ran...but, after long periods between scanners. Apache took about 15+ minutes to even move to the Security assessor. That then took just as long. Basically, a security scan is taking close to 45 minutes to complete, when they normally take a minute or less (our newest machine, though specced similarly, just with new hardware, takes about 30-45 seconds). So, something has changed in how it responds on the older systems...but, with no logging, there is no way to know why.
I will probably open a ticket on this...but, at least they run...just extremely slow.
