We've discovered an URGENT and potential security breach in PROFTPD used with cPanel that would allow any user access to databases, passwords, WWW accounts, FTP accounts on the server.

    This affects mainly BSD systems

I've already submitted a bug ticket to cPanel

    Ticket # 60117

Due to the potential of this security issue, I will not be able to release any type of details (very easy to figure it out).

I highly recommend turning off FTP service or switching to another FTP software temporarily.

cPanel and others had been notified.
