Hi, when I add an IP address to block in my security / IP Address Blocker I thought this IP address was added to the .htaccess of the site in the form of
Deny from xxx.xx.xx.xx Outside I do not see any additions in the htaccess.

Is this due to the security of my .htaccess?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I think you are ting to add IP through cPanel and that's why IP added in .htaccess. If you want to add IP in server firewall then you need to have root access to block IP.

Yes by Cpanel, but it does not add to the htaccess when it should be added.

I have root access to WHM.

    Hello,

Blocking an IP address via "cPanel >> IP Blocker" should automatically add the following entry to the .htaccess file within the /home/$username/public_html directory:

    Code:
    deny from 1.2.3.4
Could you let us know of any output to /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when using the "IP Blocker" permissions? What are the permissions/ownership values on the account's .htaccess file?

    Thank you.
