securetmp is a good start but not enough

you have to config your firewall, several programs can help you

    apf is quite popular
added to this a warning script bfd

then install logwatch and configure it so you get each day a status of what happened last 24 hours

then install chkrootkit and install a cron to send you daily the status

and do a search on this forum on security, there is a very big thread with many little things you can do to secure your server

And above all, each day go in and walk around, does the mail count not jump up (spammers)
is bandwidth usage constant or is an account jumping up (illegal content hidden or not)

    etc etc

basically over time you will get a nose for this, load average... constant or going up (install mrtg for example)

Running a server is learning many things by reading, looking and a good dose of commen sense

No really, no. The only other one that comes to mind is /scripts/enablefileprotect. Other than that, have a read through the sticky Security thread on the forums.

Never used /scripts/secureit so would not know how effective it is, though looking at it, it does meddle a little.

You may find the Easy Linux Security script from http://www.nsonetworks.com/ comes in very useful - it'll locked down /tmp for you (with better settings then the "default" securetmp script), install BFD, install APF, install Libsafe, enable usedir protection etc etc. Very recommended IMHO.
